Required documents to enter Austria
Austria is member of the European Union. To enter the country, all EU citizens will only need to show a valid identity card.

Currency-banks -post offices
As all the other 11 members of European Currency Area, Austria has adopted since 1st January 2002 the Euro currency. The monetary unit is divided into coins of 1/2/5/10/20/50 cents, 1 and 2 euro, and banknotes, divided into pieces of 5/10/20/50/100/200/500 Euro. There are no limits concerning the importation and exportation of value. Credit cards are accepted everywhere, with the exception of small shops. All ATM machines are part of the international circuit Maestro, therefore you can withdraw money from any of the cash machine spread around the city. Automated machines for currency exchange are very common at the borders and in the major tourist resorts.
Banks are open Monday to Friday from 8 am to 12.30 pm, and from 13.30 pm to 15.00 pm (17.30 on Thursdays). Exchange offices are located in airports, railways stations and at the borders with the following opening times: all days from 8.30 am to 23.30 pm.
Post offices are open Monday to Friday from 8.00 am to 12.00 am, and from 14 pm to 18 pm, on Saturday from 8.00 to 10. am. In the major cities some post offices stay open 24h. Postcards and letters must be sent with stamps of 0,44- 0,50 Euro .
