BY CAR :
Innsbruck is situated between the highways A12/A13, and can be accessed from Verona if you come from Italy, and from Monaco di Baviera,if you come from Germany.
The highways A12 and A13 merge in proximity of Innsbruck, in the exact point where the A13 ends. Therefore, the city is easily reachable from Italy, by crossing the Brenner pass through the highway A22 (or the state road 12 Inntalautobahn), and the Brennerautobahn (A 13). Innsbruck is just a few kilometers away. Transit on Austrian highways is only permitted to vehicles provided with a special sticker called vignetta, which must be affixed on the car windshield. This sticker can be purchased in Italy at gas stations, at border crossings and in all post offices, as well as at Austrian automobile clubs (ÖAMTC, ARBÖ), insurances companies and tobacco shops. Disabled people are exempt from showing the sticker.
